We are pleased to announce Barbara Ortelli Pin<\/strong>‘s welcome return to the gallery with a new personal exhibition<\/strong>, “The Past in the Present,” from September 13th to October 3rd, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The artist will be present at the opening<\/strong> on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 11:30 am<\/strong> and will be introduced by Gabriella Pastor<\/strong> and Dr. Irene Caputo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n

“In this exhibition, Barbara Ortelli Pin maintains her dual identity: as an artisan, thanks to her masterful use of the Joomchi technique<\/strong>, and as an artist, guided by the textures created for her textile interventions<\/strong>: each painting is still a novel in itself, where the main characters take over and lead their author wherever they wish through shapes, colours, and three-dimensionality. It is in this past that we recognize a new present: geometry that, once being the frame, now almost becomes the protagonist. In the 2024 exhibition \u201cThe thread of the speech<\/a>,” colours used to dominate the works, arousing emotions and inspiration in the viewer. Background and artistic creation worked in synergy, and the final message struck at first glance. In these new works, we see that Barbara Ortelli Pin knows how to create the same dance starting from shapes: circles, squares, rectangles – isolated or intersecting – guide us and instinctively transport us to a well-defined place – a field of daisies, a residential neighbourhood, in front of a pre-Columbian mask.
\nFrom hyperrealism to abstraction may seem like a great leap, but
\nBarbara Ortelli Pin’s geometry doesn’t create vertigo in those who observe the world by breaking down images into familiar shapes, shadows, and reflections; on the contrary, it leaves room for an observation that goes beyond the known.”<\/p>\n
