Two Painters in a Bubble: the double personal exhibition by Luigi Rocca and Donatella Chiara Bedello.

The double personal exhibition “Two painters in a bubble” will be open at the Contemporary Art Gallery Ghetto Et Cetera in Venice (Campo del Ghetto novo, 2919) on Sunday, December 5th, 2021 . A double solo exhibition of Luigi Rocca and Donatella Chiara Bedello, he from Friuli and she from Turin, working in Venice for many years in the name of a personal and virtuous interpretation of Hyperrealism.

On display there are about twenty works, including acrylics on canvas and fine art prints, painted by Maestro Rocca between 2015 and 2016 and from Bedello D.C. in the last two years. Rocca will also exhibit some lamps created with recycled materials, including special pieces of Harley Davidson, and reproducing the motorbike sounds.

Two Painters in a Bubble will be opened online on December 5th at 12pm with the introduction of the Architect Marianna Accerboni in live streaming and can be visited until January 14th, 2022.

The exhibition

In pandemic times – writes Arch. Marianna Accerboni – not only are live concerts performed in a large protective bubble – like those spread by the band The Flaming Lips in different parts of the world – but also artworks. And it is in that spirit, that certainly also alludes to the concentration in which the artists are immersed when they create, that the paintings of Luigi Rocca e Donatella Chiara Bedello were executed, he from the Friuli region, she from Turin, both working in Venice for many years in the name of a personal and virtuous interpretation of Hyperrealism. That captures the fleeting moments of everyday life in the United States with a great skill for the brushing stroke, which in Rocca is strained to search absolute perfectionism in the context of a reality that transcends and surpasses the real, while Bedello allows spaces of light also to the expressionist language, from which she benefits moments of free feelings and actions. Two talented artists who from the Hyperrealist lesson – which finds his more immediate preview in the game of Pop art, heir of the USA as well as the early Seventies Hyperrealism itself, – understand how to make the light flow, a value that only the great artists are capable of.

Also Rocca’s rational daydream – painter working for over twenty years in the prestigious galleries Mensing, which exhibit his paintings with great success in different German cities – keeps on astonishing, beyond one’s favourite style, because the painter manages to extrapolate from his passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, the subjects of many of his paintings, also pieces which, mixed with other recycled materials, creates original postmodern and surreal lamps, bright and sound, some of which also reproduce the noise of the Harley. And here once again the concept of freedom, of free action that amuses and amazes while the light, that dazzles and imbues the works of both artists, springs like an attractive primadonna from their happy brushes, expressing their talent, originating from modernity and meticulous and tenacious work.

Two Painters in a Bubble will be visitable from December 5th to January 14th, 2022.
